On the Phu Ninh, a new destination, visitors can discover not just a natural, picturesque and impressive man-made lake, but also have a chance to visit the Bong Mieu goldmine. Seven kilometers west of Tam Ky, the Phu Ninh reservoir is an irrigation work containing half billion cubic metres of water, a vast expansive surface with beautiful islands and tree-covered mountains. It was started in 1977 and finished 10 years later.

It is significant either to develop irrigation, hydro-electricity, forest
and agriculture or supply fresh water for daily life. Phu Ninh
reservoir is well known as an eco-tourism resort. With cool weather,
various plants and many precious species fourteen kinds of them are
preserved here.

From the hill, the whole view looks like heaven with tree-covered
islands and great mountains. On a boat, tourists enjoy themselves
with the beauty of a lively and natural landscape. Moreover, they
are interested in the Chap Tra Valley with a hot mineral resource
for bath or treatments.
